Rappahannock Goodwill Hosts Career Readiness Workshop

On October 5 and 6, Rappahannock Goodwill hosted a Career Readiness Workshop for James Monroe High School students in Marketing, Economics and Personal Finance, and Business Law classes. Students completed a Career Path Accelerator assessment, giving them an opportunity to explore career pathways and reflect on options that may align with their interests and strengths. Students will receive personalized results in the coming weeks, including guidance and questions to help them take the next steps in exploring their chosen industries. As part of the workshop, students also participated in a Dress for Success component, where they learned what to wear and not wear to a job interview. They discussed the importance of making a positive first impression in a professional setting. A big thanks to Rappahannock Goodwill for providing this incredible resource for our students!

FCPS and Scouting America Strengthen Partnership

FCPS was pleased to welcome leaders from the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) of Scouting America, who met with Superintendent Dr. Marci Catlett to talk about ways to continue working together. The visiting group included NCAC Board Member Kala Shah, Chief Operating Officer Dwayne Jones, District Chair Beckman Hollis, and District Executive Gabby Henry. The conversation centered on expanding opportunities for students, including connecting the NCAC Explorer program and other Scouting programs with the division’s growing career and technical education pathways. FCPS is grateful to Scouting America for its commitment to our students and looks forward to the opportunities this continued partnership will bring.
